Michal Havran (1973), studied classical literature and languages in Bratislava and Protestant theology in France. He is the founder of the portal jetotak.sk and the coauthor of the successful movie Candidate, he hosts the talk show Dinner with Havran on Slovak public TV. He considers himself a saloon theologist.
He has a few favorite authors: Cyrano de Bergerac, P. K Dick and Arthur Machen. Each of them elaborated on one of the basic emotions connected to what we nowadays call speculative fiction. The longing for another, better civilization, our own or a foreign one. The anxiety which rises from the prospect of the human curiosity and the transformation of the consciousness under the influence of technologies.
